Ways To Avoid Distraction While Studying
By Franklin Skribbit
Recently a photo of Morgan Freeman surfaced on the Internet that someone was claiming was not actually a photo, but a sketch using a certain application on their iPad. They even had the video to prove it. The resemblance was uncanny and the detail made it look like a real photograph. This marked a change in the way people visualized web design. Here are some of the other affects this has had on web design.
Go to college This may seem rather obvious to some people but if you truly want to get started and have an edge in a graphic design, then you should go to college for graphic design. Future employers will like that you have studied graphic designed and will be able to see your dedication and desire through your degree. It is absolutely possible to still get a job without a degree, but if you have the resources, then plan on getting your degree. It will help you be successful in your field.
Less is More - Another key to getting the undivided attention of your website visitors is to not give them a reason to divide it in the first place. If you have a hundred options of different links you could send them to, narrow it down. No one wants to see that many options, especially on a tablet. That standard has translated over to non-tablet web design as well. Businesses have started to simplify the main page of their websites to just a few links that will lead them to what they are looking for. It is much easier to read content and navigate sites this way.
Staying the Course - All college students should resign themselves to the fact that their pursuit of a degree is more of a marathon than a race. They have to find ways to endure the drudgery of going to classes semester after semester. When you look at your college career in terms of the big picture, you might feel overwhelmed at the discovery of all the semesters that you have yet to complete. You need to take it semester by semester, knowing full well that before long you will be one semester away from getting your degree. Looking at the situation in these terms will provide you with an intense feeling of relief.
Start to network - Most people get jobs through their contacts. If someone knows that you are a really strong, reliable, and creative graphic designer, and they are looking for someone to fill the job, then they will be much more inclined to find you, and to hire you. Get your name out, and be friendly with everyone you meet. You never know who could be your next boss or employee.
As tablet technology continues to progress, so will the web design component that goes with it. It is important to stay educated about all the ways that this has influenced web design as a whole in order to know what direction it may go in in the future.
